I have recently been introduced to two people who are vegans. To be honest, I have always been vegetarian. However, I have recently begun a journey into the vegan world. I read all the books, articles, and blog posts that I could get my hands on. I even bought a book about plant-based eating with my very first paycheck.
I read that book and honestly couldn’t agree more. I was surprised to learn that the book is still sold in bookstores and that I can buy it for less than $10. I also read the articles and blogs about the science of plant-based eating. And I ate some of their food.
I just can’t get enough of it. Here’s the issue: I have to be the one to tell you how to get into the vegan world.
A plant-based diet is simply a diet in which the animal products are replaced by plant-based alternatives. It is a way of eating that is made possible by the fact that we live in vast, diverse ecosystems with ample resources. A plant-based diet is also a very efficient and sustainable way of getting your body to produce less greenhouse gas emissions than if you were eating animal-based foods.
A lot of people are on the fence about their diet too. If you have a vegan diet and you’re not eating anything that’s vegan, why not just eat as much? A lot of people think meat is healthy. They think that if you’re vegan, it’s good for everybody and that’s the best they can do.
Many big, sustainable companies and startups are doing all kinds of fancy things to make their products more sustainable. The company that created the first ever vegetarian food factory in the US was able to produce more than 3 million products worldwide, and I think that’s pretty fantastic. There’s one thing they should have been more concerned about if they had a vegan-friendly vegan diet.
I think the main thing that might have been more important is not to eat meat. I think the whole issue of veganism could have been more focused on the issues of animal welfare. There is still a lot of meat farming and slaughter going on, and a lot of people choose to avoid eating meat since it is a lot easier for them to avoid the pain than eat vegan.
I feel like it’s a little late for this, but I really want to make sure I don’t get any animal products in my diet. I eat a lot of plants and vegetables, and I eat them raw (especially bananas and tomatoes) and cook them with minimal animal products. I’ve learned to make sure I only eat the “clean” stuff in my diet, and I’m not one bit worried about what I put in my stomach.
Yes, some people do eat meat and choose to avoid it because it’s easy. I am one of those people, and I do make a conscious effort to avoid all animal products. I used to eat meat back when I was younger, but recently I have been eating mostly plant-based foods and I feel so much better about it. I don’t feel as uncomfortable eating it, and it really does taste and feel better.
