At least in my opinion, the concept of colorless energy was one of the things that allowed this game to be so special. It allowed the developers to take the time to build a true and unique game that was in no way derivative of any other game. In fact, this game stands as the third best game of the last ten years. The others being Super Meat Boy and the Metal Gear Solid games.
And of course, I love it. I was first introduced to the concept of energy in the game after having played a similar game. I had no idea what I was doing, and my opponent was a little worried, but I proceeded to run around and do ridiculous combos while also using the game’s special attack. The energy I used was colorless, which I thought was pretty cool.
Of course, the game’s colorless energy actually has a variety of applications. It can be used to power games like Tetris, as the energy used to build Tetris blocks can be used to power blocks to build Tetris towers, and on and on. I’m not sure if I will be doing any more Tetris, but I do like the idea of building blocks of energy in my games.
